Vein Treatment

Learn More

At Monroeville Vein & Laser Center, we offer a broad range of non-invasive and minimally invasive services and treatments to target spider and varicose veins. With over 20 years of experience and tens of thousands of procedures conducted to date, our medical team specializes in venous care.

Our services span both aesthetic and medical treatment of varicose veins, which includes laser treatment, sclerotherapy, compression stockings, phlebectomy, and venous RF ablation.

Each appointment begins with a venous consultation, where we identify any underlying issues and determine the treatment option most suitable for your unique needs.

About.

Compression Therapy.

Compression therapy uses prescription grade stockings to alleviate the symptoms brought about by venous disease. These stockings can be purchased at our practice.

Compression stockings are often the first line of therapy, since most insurances require patients wear them for at least three months before initiating any other vein treatment. They are designed to apply pressure to your lower legs, improving circulation, and in turn reducing swelling and discomfort in the legs

Compression therapy can be used in addition to other treatments. After vein treatment, compression therapy is often used in order to reduce pressure on the  veins treated and ultimately reduce the chance of recurrence.

Laser Treatment.

Laser treatment is a quick, effective, and non-invasive way to reduce the appearance of spider and small varicose veins.

Laser therapy uses light to shrink and destroy unwanted veins.

Laser therapy normally requires multiple treatments. The individual results of laser therapy sessions are subtle, but become more dramatic over time. The procedure requires little downtime, is pain free, and patients can return to work and usual activity the same day.

Sclerotherapy.

Sclerotherapy is a highly effective non-surgical treatment option used for correcting and improving the appearance of smaller spider and varicose veins. It usually involves multiple injections and treatments are typically done over the next few months.

Sclerotherapy is performed right in our office and involves an injection that causes little pain or discomfort. It requires no anesthesia or special preparation. It has minimal downtime, a short recovery time, and those receiving sclerotherapy can typically resume their usual activities the same day.

Sclerotherapy treatment works through the injection of a mild solution called sclerosant into the veins, which in turn causes those veins to shrink.

Radio Frequency Ablation.

Radiofrequency Ablation (RFA) is a minimally invasive procedure that uses radiofrequency energy to close off varicose veins, providing immediate relief from symptoms.

RFA is an outpatient procedure that is performed under local anesthesia and takes about 10-20 minutes. Appointments last about an hour in total and patients can resume normal activities on the same day.

RFA uses the heat created from radio frequency to treat varicose veins. It works by sending the heat into your vein through a thin, flexible catheter, closing off blood flow to your varicose vein.

Phlebectomy.

Phlebectomy is a minimally invasive treatment that removes larger, bulging varicose veins that are closer to the surface of the skin.

Phlebectomy is an outpatient procedure performed under local anesthesia. It lasts 30 minutes to an hour and is not typically painful. Most patients are able to return to work and resume daily activities the following day.

During a phlebectomy, the surgeon uses a small scalpel or needle to remove varicose veins that lie just beneath the surface of the leg. The veins are removed through multiple, small, slit-like incisions that do not require stitches.

Phlebectomy procedures are sometimes followed by sclerotherapy injections, which can be used to “clean up” the smaller, residual veins remaining.

Diagnostic Testing.

We offer convenient same-day testing with immediate results.

Our diagnostic testing includes venous ultrasounds and mapping at our Monroeville location.
